Key Shop

A New Culture of Learning

The KeyShop is designed to be a meeting point for all people and especially for elderly people. It is a learning space where self-organized learning and key skills are learned as a cross curricular competence is offered, foundation of a “New culture of learning”. All offers of our KeyShop strictly follow the individual and holistic approach. This helps to improve their own learning and performance, for work and life in general. The philosophy is old, but still innovative: help, to self-help. It is important for our high quality KeyShop to be in an attractive room (different to school learning atmosphere), where to get information, advice, bite size learning, training courses and coaching. The overall motto is: Learning with fun. A Shop which is dealing with a delicate good like knowledge / competences needs highly qualified staff. The key person of a “New Culture of Learning” is the “trainer”. That means they have to change their role and attitude to become a Coach.

The web site will provide an information platform for the external audience. Project results and reports shall be available on the web site. The website will also provide the e-learning tools and the virtual versions of KeyShop and Scenario Workshop. Feedback by target groups is welcome and will be stimulated in a mailing list or web forum. In general, KeyShops are small and local organisations. The first three KeyShops in Germany, Italy and Austria will be the centre of an emerging network of KeyShops in Europe, which allows for breaking out of the local by broadening the knowledge base.
